Wine e-commerce platform Lot18 has announced an acquisition of US-based wine provider CustomVine.

CustomVine offers private label and custom wines to restaurant, hotel and retail companies, including Landry’s, Brinker International, VinoVolo and FreshDirect in the US.

The acquisition is in line with Lot18’s strategy to expand its trade footprint and consolidate its position in the market.

CustomVine CEO Kevin Boyer said: “We’re beyond thrilled to join forces with Lot18 and further grow our abilities and capabilities with our clients and partners.

“There has been tremendous growth in the US private label landscape over the last ten years.”

“Though there has been tremendous growth in the US private label landscape over the last ten years, we believe we’ve barely scratched the surface of what the market will ultimately bear.”

“Lot18’s experience as one of the largest direct-to-customer (DTC) companies in the world and vast infrastructure will immediately enable us to build powerful global brands for ourselves and all of our trade partners.”

Established in 2010, Lot18 is a DTC wine e-commerce platform that curates, markets and retails alcoholic beverages online.

In addition, the platform makes custom wine brands, including Axiom, Mythmaker, Finial, Q8, Amukan, Loophole, and Neptune’s Trident.

Lot18 said in a statement: “In a few short years, CustomVine has emerged as a leader in private label direct-to-trade wine procurement.

“With the acquisition of CustomVine, Lot18 will immediately become one of the top players in the category, and we are very honoured and excited to supply CustomVine’s world-class hospitality and retail brands with high-quality wines at unbeatable prices.”
