Plant-based protein beverage maker Koia has expanded its beverage lineup with the launch of a new ready-to-drink (RTD) smoothies range.

The company claims that the new smoothies contain the lowest sugar and net carb levels in comparison to other drinks available in the market.

Koia co-founder and CEO Chris Hunter said: “For Koia to make delicious, nutritious products that enable the everyday consumer to live a healthier life, we must continue to actively address one of the most significant health risks we currently face, sugar.

“Koia has already removed a staggering two million pounds of sugar from the marketplace. But grocery coolers remain full of high-sugar, high-calorie beverage options that are masked as being healthy.

“That’s why we’re excited to expand our portfolio to include truly good-for-you fruit smoothie options, all with no added sugar and among the lowest sugar/net carb levels currently available.”

The new smoothie range will be available in four different flavours, including magic mango, rise & shine, straw-nana dream, and tropical passion.

With 9g of sugar per bottle, Koia Fruit Smoothies are produced with real fruits and are packed with nutrients, plant proteins and prebiotic fibre.

The company further added that its smoothie range is in line with the recently announced recommended changes to the US Federal Dietary Guidelines.

Koia Fruit Smoothie will be joining the company’s beverage portfolio, which includes Protein and Keto shakes, Coffees and Thrive.

Koia Fruit Smoothie will be available at Whole Foods Market outlets across the US.

In August 2017, Koia announced that it will expand its portfolio with the addition of two new flavours in the US market.
