Beam Suntory’s bourbon brand Knob Creek has expanded its portfolio with the addition of limited-edition Knob Creek Quarter Oak.

Bottled at 100-proof, Quarter Oak offers an aroma of brown sweets, char and toasted oak, with hints of dried fruits.

The bourbon celebrates founding distiller Booker Noe’s vision of creating full-flavoured bourbon of pre-prohibition style.

Beam Family 7th generation master distiller Fred Noe said: “When Dad created Knob Creek in the early 90s, he wanted to bring back the big, bold flavours that bourbon offered before the days of Prohibition.

“Dad loved to experiment in his quest for flavour and I like to think we carry on that same spirit today with releases like this. Finishing our full-flavoured liquid in quarter casks delivers a nice, deepened wood flavour to the bourbon our fans enjoy.”

Quarter Oak has been crafted in a pre-prohibition style to increase the contact between the wood and whiskey. It was finished in quarter cask, American oak barrels for a minimum of four years.

Additionally, a small portion of bourbon has been mixed with the company’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon to create the final product, which offers a balance of oak influence and traditional, sweeter notes.

Knob Creek Bourbon is part of the original small batch bourbon collection from Kentucky.
