US-based organic milk brand Horizon has introduced its first multi-serve organic protein milk, known as Horizon Organic High Protein.

The company said that its new milk product contains 12g of organic protein per 8oz serving, which is almost 50% higher than traditional dairy milk.

Horizon Organic senior marketing director Christina Finkel said: “We realised that protein is a top priority for people when it comes to milk, yet no organic protein milk option was available.

“Protein helps to fuel your day and supports healthy muscles, and our newest organic protein milk is meant to help meet that need for dairy drinkers.”

Horizon’s new organic protein milk will be available in Reduced Fat Chocolate, Reduced Fat Plain and Vitamin D flavours.

“Protein helps to fuel your day and supports healthy muscles, and our newest organic protein milk is meant to help meet that need for dairy drinkers.”

The Reduced Fat Chocolate variant offers a protein-packed chocolate twist, while the Reduced Fat Plain flavour is suitable for the calorie-conscious consumer, and Vitamin D variant offers a rich, creamy experience.

All three flavours of Horizon Organic High Protein milk will be sold across the US for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $5.99 per 64oz carton.

Horizon has been producing organic milk for nearly three decades. It currently sources organic milk from a network of nearly 700 certified organic family farms across the country.

Finkel added: “Less than 6% of all milk is USDA Certified Organic. We’re proud to be the first when it comes to a higher protein organic milk option. In addition to a higher level of protein, it tastes delicious, just like the rest of our organic milk portfolio.”
