AB InBev’s Hoegaarden has expanded its beer offering portfolio with the introduction of cherry blossom beer under Gaarden Series.

Hoegaarden Cherry Blossom beer is custom-made and will be exclusively available in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV), US.

The company noted that its limited-edition seasonal wheat beer contains subtle notes of cherry blossom and offers slightly sweet and tart flavour.

The company added that its wheat beer has been infused with botanicals and natural goodness.

Hoegaarden premium and super-premium vice-president Peter Van Overstraeten said: “Combining Hoegaarden’s strong brewing heritage, connection with nature and the highest quality ingredients with a local treasure of the cherry blossoms, we are bringing nature back to the city.

“Hoegaarden Cherry Blossom is truly a wheat beer inspired by the essence of springtime in DC, and we’re thrilled to share it with the local community.”

With 5.6% alcohol by volume (ABV), Hoegaarden Cherry Blossom will be available in four-packs of 16oz aluminium bottles priced at $9.99 at retailers all around DMV, as well as purchased through select online ordering platforms.

Hoegaarden explained that its original wheat beer was first brewed in a small village in Belgium using local ingredients, flavoured with orange peel and coriander.

Currently, the beer is sold in more than 70 countries.
