Hochdorf Group is selling its Hochdorf Baltic Milk UAB protein plant in Lithuania to an investment group.

Located in Medeikiai, the plant was one the Hochdorf Group’s first milk plants in the EU.

The group decided to sell the facility due to low protein prices in the international market and high milk prices caused by agricultural policies in Lithuania.

“The group decided to sell the facility due to low protein prices in the international market.”

The Hochdorf Group purchased the milk plant in 2010, as the company required a production site in the EU area. Selling the plant is expected to help the group reorganise and strengthen its dairy ingredients division.

The transaction involves earnings before interest & taxes (EBIT) liability of around CHF3.2m ($3.2m) and a total of around CHF6.2m ($6.2m) net profits.

Based in Switzerland, the Hochdorf Group is a food manufacturing company that produces products using natural ingredients such as milk, wheat germ and oilseeds.

The company’s offerings are distributed to the food industry and the wholesale and retail sectors, as well as exported to more than 90 countries worldwide.
