French Cognac distiller Hennessy has expanded its product portfolio with the release of Master Blender’s Selection No 4.

Created by Hennessy Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, Master Blender’s Selection No 4 is the fourth in a limited-edition series.

It is said to have been crafted with at-least-five-year-old eaux-de-vie aged in young French red oak barrels.

Gironde said: “When creating this blend, I was inspired by the contrast of a ‘thermal shock’.

“Going from feeling one’s smallness in such a wide-open space to being inside, passing from daylight to the darkness of night, from the solitude of the forest and being completely exposed to the elements in nature to an environment of complete comfort and cosy abandon surrounded by friends.”

With 43% alcohol by volume (abv), Master Blender’s Selection No 4 is a crisp, light amber Cognac featuring notes of fresh apricot, candied orange peel and hints of fruity spices.

Available for a limited time, Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No 4 is said to be the second single-batch creation of Renaud Fillioux de Gironde as the Hennessy Master Blender.

Beginning this month, Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No 4 will be available at select fine retailers for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $89.99 for every 750ml bottle.
