UK-based alcoholic beverages manufacturer and distributor Halewood Wines and Spirits has acquired 48% stake in Polish craft spirits brand Vestal Vodka.

The companies believe that the transaction has taken place when the UK is witnessing a ‘revival’ of vodka.

With the acquisition of a significant stake in Vestal Vodka, Halewood intends to continue its focus on the artisanal spirits.

Based in Poland, Vestal Vodka was established by William Borrell in 2011. It produces its vodka at a facility in Kaszubia region.

Traditional potato varieties are used in the manufacture of all Vestal’s products.

Its portfolio includes Pomorze Unfiltered Potato Vodka, Blended Potato Vodka, Kaszebe Unfiltered Potato Vodka and Vestal Aged Vodka.

Meanwhile, Vestal has also unveiled its vodka variant 2015 vintage, packed in a bottle produced using recycled glass and features a design depicting brand’s Polish heritage.

Speaking about its new product, Borrell said that the drink is creamy and buttery and has earthy spices along with a delicate fruit aroma. It offers a soft finish and had white pepper notes.

Vestal Vodka 2015 vintage is available for a recommended retail price (RRP) of £22 per 70cl bottle.

Last September, Halewood Wines & Spirits announced the opening of Bristol & Bath Rum distillery in Bristol, UK.

This facility includes a distillery, a bar, a rum school and a bar school, as well as a kitchen with food offerings.
