Wine importer Guarachi Wine Partners has signed a distribution deal with ARAEX Grands Spanish Fine Wines in the US.

Under the new partnership, Guarachi Wine Partners will become the exclusive US importer and distributor of ARAEX’s wine brands Gran Sello and Baigorri.

Gran Sello wines are Spanish cavas produced in the Catalunya region. They are blended with Chardonnay to produce fruity notes and a light acidity that the company claims compliments the traditional Spanish tapas style of dining. The brand’s Gran Sello Brut and Brut Rosé will be available in select Kroger stores across the US from April.

Baigorri wine is produced at a modern winery built seven stories underground in the village of Samaniego in Rioja Alavesa, Spain. Its Crianza, Tempranillo Reserva, Blanco and Vin de Garage products will be available in the US from late 2018.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Guarachi Wine Partners has been importing and marketing fine wines from Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Spain and the US for more than three decades.

Guarachi Wine Partners CEO Alex Guarachi said: “I frequently sample wines from all over the world to keep my finger on the pulse of up and coming brands.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Guarachi Wine Partners. Their experience in this industry will allow us to continue to grow and bring unique wines to the market.”

“After seeing the interest in premium wines continue to grow rapidly over the past three decades, I’m more passionate today than ever in helping wine brands develop a presence in the US.

“Over the next few years, I am looking to expand our portfolio to include new brands from top appellations, both imported and domestic, that offer amazing quality and/or value to US wine consumers.”

ARAEX Grands Spanish Fine Wines was founded by Javier Galarreta 25 years ago by combining 13 prestigious winegrowers from premium wine regions in Spain.
