Italian sparkling wine producer Gancia has entered into still wines segment with the launch of Chianti DOCG and Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC.

Initially, the two variants will available in New York, then distributed across North America from the first quarter of 2021.

The company claims that its Chianti DOCG features a fruit-forward blend of Sangiovese grapes.

Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC offers fresh citrus fruit aroma and ‘balanced floral’ taste.

These two varietals will be joining the company’s extensive portfolio of sparkling wines and liqueurs.

Established in 1850 by Carlo Gancia, maker of the first Italian sparkling wine, the company produces sparkling wines, prosecco and vermouth.

With an annual production capacity of more than 40 million bottles, Gancia distributes its products in more than 65 countries.

Roust Americas CEO Scott Oliver said: “After 170 years of winemaking excellence, we are delighted to announce we are getting into the still wines business, launching our first Pinot Grigio and Chianti under the storied Gancia label.

“These two wines are Italian classics and crafted with both quality and value in mind. We believe our launch comes at a time when consumers are more inclined than ever to seek out comforting high-quality wines that deliver exceptional value for money.”

Roust Americas, a subsidiary of Roust Group, distributes and marks the company’s wines and liqueurs.

It also distributes brands such as Russian Standard Vodka, Zubrowka Vodkas, Green Mark Vodka and De Luze cognac.
