Distiller Freddie Noe has released the second expression of its blended whiskey series.

Called ‘Little Book Chapter 2: Noe Simple Task’, the expression offers a blend of three uncut and unfiltered Kentucky and Canadian whiskies.

Freddie Noe’s parent company Jim Beam officially launched the Little Book Whiskey Series in September last year. It is planned to be an annual, limited-release series that features a new and unique blend every year.

“It was a step outside my comfort zone to bring these two worlds of whiskey together.”

The Noe Simple Task expression was crafted with an eight-year-old Kentucky straight rye whiskey, a 13-year-old Canadian rye whisky and a 40-year-old Canadian whisky made from corn. It offers floral and fruity notes, which balance out the spice from the rye whiskies in the final blend.

Company founder Freddie Noe said: “For Little Book Chapter 2, I was inspired to work with the extra-aged Canadian whiskies I tasted while visiting our Canadian distilleries last year, but I knew I had my work cut out for me.

“The floral, fruit notes Canadian whiskies achieve really intrigued me, along with the ageing and production styles that are so different from what we do here in Kentucky.

“It was a step outside my comfort zone to bring these two worlds of whiskey together, and I’m really proud of the unique blend I was able to achieve.”

Beginning this month, Noe Simple Task will be available across the US in limited quantities for a suggested retail price of $99.99 per 750ml bottle.
