The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has opened a new Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at Lincoln Square, 1403 Washington Avenue in Philadelphia, US.

The store occupies around 7,500ft² of space and features nearly 2,800 wines and spirits, including Chairman’s Selection products.

The store also includes a tasting bar and counters for highlighting promotional items and educational materials such as vintage charts, food pairing outlines, calorie charts and tips for responsible hosting and consumption.

A ‘Made in Pennsylvania’ section of the store showcases wines and spirits that are produced in the commonwealth.

Throughout the design and construction phases, PLCB proposed to develop a store that is environmentally responsible. To this end, the facility features LED lighting, which uses less energy than traditional lighting.

The PLCB regulates the distribution of alcoholic beverages in Pennsylvania and licenses 20,000 producers, retailers and handlers. It operates more than 600 wine and spirits stores across the state and works through partnerships with schools, community groups and licensees to reduce and prevent dangerous and underage drinking.

The PLCB also provides financial support to the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Department of Drug and Alcohol’s programmes and other state agencies.
