Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) Fanta brand has launched two new zero-sugar soft drinks, Fanta Blood Orange and Fanta Pink Grapefruit, in the UK market.

These zero-sugar Halloween-themed drinks will be available for a limited time period at Asda and Tesco supermarkets. The new beverages’ bottles and cans will feature Halloween-themed graphics by illustrator Noma Bar.

The packaging will also comprise a quick response (QR) code that provides consumers access to Snapchat filters and lenses, including a bat, a pumpkin and a skull.

“Last year, Fanta grew by 23% during Halloween so we know it’s a key time for our brand.”

Fanta marketing manager Rosalind Brown was quoted by foodbev as saying: “Like Coca-Cola is to Christmas, Fanta is to Halloween and we can’t wait to reveal our new campaign. Last year, Fanta grew by 23% during Halloween so we know it’s a key time for our brand.

“Halloween has really taken off here in the UK in recent years and has become a key calendar moment for our target audience of young adults.”

Starting this week, the drinks will be retailed at £1.00 per 50cl bottle, £1.25 per 2l bottle and £2.50 per eight-pack of cans.

CCEP selected the blood orange and pink grapefruit flavours based on the results of a consumer’s poll of 150,000 participants conducted earlier this year.
