US-based doughnut company and coffeehouse Dunkin’ Donuts has launched a new canned coffee and espresso blend.

Called Shot in the Dark, the new product will be available at select retail locations across the US market. It is manufactured and distributed by global beverage firm Coca-Cola Company, and features a combination of the company’s signature coffee and espresso.

Served in a special slim 8.1oz can, the canned coffee and espresso also delivers cream and sugar. It will be available in caramel, mocha and vanilla flavours.

Dunkin’ Donuts’ retail business development vice-president Brian Gilbert said: “Our fans have loved our ready-to-drink (RTD) iced coffees as a great way to power through their day with Dunkin’ anytime and anywhere.

“Now, for the coffee-loving consumers who want something a little bolder than a traditional cup of coffee, but not as strong as a shot of espresso, our Shot in the Dark creates an exciting and energising new option when on-the-go.”

The company intends to expand the availability of Shot in the Dark cans at convenience and grocery stores across the US.

Since the beginning of last year, Coca-Cola and its bottling partners have been manufacturing and distributing pre-packaged Dunkin’ Donuts branded bottled beverages.

The pre-packaged bottled iced coffee beverage line-up includes original, mocha, espresso, French vanilla and cookies and cream flavours.

In addition, the coffee company launched its new Pumpkin Spice Bottled Iced Coffee in the RTD category.
