Diageo’s Tennessee whisky brand George Dickel has partnered with US Tabasco sauce producer McIlhenny Company to create the George Dickel Tabasco Brand Barrel Finish.

In order to give a spicy flavour, George Dickel’s Tennessee Whisky is stored for 30 days in barrels, which have been used for ageing tabasco peppers for three years.

McIlhenny’s Tabasco sauce is distilled to create an essence, which is blended with the aged whisky to create the final product.

Diageo American Whiskey Development director Jeff Parrott said: “George Dickel Tennessee Whisky and Tabasco are two of the most iconic brands the South has to offer for a reason – the craftsmanship that goes into creating these products is the real deal.

“We’re proud to collaborate with our friends at McIlhenny Company to marry their unique flavour with our quality Tennessee whisky.”

“Both brands have such a rich history, and we’re proud to collaborate with our friends at McIlhenny Company to marry their unique flavour with our quality Tennessee whisky.”

With 35% alcohol by volume, the tabasco-infused whiskey is available across the US market for a suggested retail price of $24.99 for a 750ml bottle. The product is also available in 50ml and one-litre sizes.

Currently, McIlhenny Company’s Tabasco products are sold in 195 countries and territories across the globe.

The product line up includes Tabasco Brand Original Red Sauce, Green Jalapeño Sauce, Chipotle Sauce, Sweet & Spicy Sauce, Habanero Sauce, Garlic Pepper Sauce, Buffalo Style Hot Sauce, and Sriracha Sauce.
