Coca-Cola Amatil has signed a 28-year distribution agreement with Abro.

Based in the US, Abro is the global brand owner of Rekorderlig Cider, while Coca-Cola Amatil is a bottler of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages.

The agreement enables Coca-Cola Amatil to promote and market the brand in Australia. It will also fortify Amatil’s position in the beer and cider segment.

Launched in the Australian market in 2010, Rekorderlig acquired a 10% market share in the cider category. It is part of the Amatil range from the past five years.

Unilever and Nestle are competing for the acquisition of GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) Indian nutrition business Horlicks.

The deal is estimated to be valued at approximately $3bn as GSK holds a 72.5% stake in India’s GSK Consumer Healthcare. It also involves accomplice brand Boost.

Other leading consumer product companies such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo earlier considered the acquisition of Horlicks.

Puration has collaborated with Generex Biotechnology for developing cannabidiol-infused water NuGenerex CBD HydroHealth High Alkaline Water.

Based in the US, Puration is a provider of CBD-infused beverages, while Generex is a diversified healthcare holdings firm based in Canada.

Puration will refine its patented extraction process for developing proprietary CBD formulations for NuGenerex CBD HydroHealth Water, which will be sold as therapeutic supplements for health maintenance.

The CBD of NuGenerex CBD HydroHealth Water is sourced from industrial hemp through a patented process that gives ultra-purified and characterised CBD formulations.

Generex will be responsible for the development and marketing of CBD-infused drinks in the sports nutrition segment.

The transaction allows Generex to explore the possible acquisition of US Cannabis Health, which is a joint venture (JV) formed by Puration with other innovators.
