Sazerac has purchased the 460,000ft² General Mills Pillsbury plant in New Albany, Indiana.

The facility was sold by a joint venture (JV) between New Mill Capital Holdings (NMCH) and Tiger Group.

The General Mills Pillsbury plant was closed in 2016. Sazerac will invest $66m in the plant to improve its processing, blending, packaging and distribution capabilities.

The company also intends to install two production lines, and begin commercial operations by November 2018.

John Drew Brands has signed a deal with Horizon Beverage Group for product distribution in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, US.

Established in 2015, John Drew Brand’s product portfolio includes Brixton Mash Destroyer, Dove Tale Rum, and John Drew Rye, which are available at a standard retail price (SRP) of $39.99, $34.99 and $49.99, respectively.

Anheuser-Busch has made an investment through the Rice Stewardship Partnership to improve water efficiency, land preservation and wildlife protection.

The firm intends to use the investment to support conservation planning, irrigation efficiencies and nutrient management.

Viking Mead has completed the acquisition of Valhalla Brewery.

Viking Mead is a manufacturer of alcoholic beverages, while Valhalla Brewery is a producer of beer. Both companies are based in the UK.

Macdonald Henderson Solicitors is the legal advisor to Viking Mead for the transaction.

The acquisition enables Viking Mead to make the Valhalla signature line of ales alongside its mead products.

NO Signboard Holdings has acquired a 20% stake in Danish Breweries for S$0.4m ($0.29m).

Danish Breweries owns the Draft Denmark brand, as well as produces and distributes Draft Denmark lagers in Singapore.

NO Signboard will fund the acquisition through the proceeds from an initial public offering (IPO).

In addition, the company has entered a franchise agreement for expanding and operating Little Sheep restaurants in Singapore.

SPI Group has acquired Louisiana Spirits and its rum range.

SPI initially acquired a minority stake in Louisiana Spirits in 2015, which was raised to a 72.5% controlling share in 2016.

The Bayou Rums range includes Select, Spiced, Silver and Satsuma rum liqueurs, which are made from a blend of molasses and raw sugar.

Bayou Rum distillery expanded its facility with the addition of a barrel library, an event space and an outdoor entertainment venue in 2017.
