KKR & Co has entered an agreement with PT Unilever Indonesia (PTUIT) to purchase its margarine and spreads business for $210m.

Based in the US, KKR & Co is a private equity firm, while PTUIT is a consumer goods producer and distributor based in Indonesia.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has been selected as the legal advisor for KKR.

The deal has received approval from Unilever Indonesia’s shareholders.

Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) has agreed to acquire the assets of Clearskincare Clinics for $127.4m.

API will initially acquire a 50.1% controlling interest in the clinics business and 100% interest in the skincare products business.

The transaction will enable API to grow its network and diversify its business into services market.

Jala Group has partnered with Alibaba’s Tmall.com for the promotion of beauty brands Chando and Maysu.

The partnership enables Jala Group to reach more customers for its Chando and Maysu brands.

Situated in Taiwan, Singapore and Australia, the pop-up stores will display products such as the Chando World Cup water mask.

Jala will also allow its customers to try cosmetics in-store virtually using augmented reality (AR) technology. Users can also find personalised beauty products and make-up styles using the technology.

Established in 2001, Jala is an operator of 21,800 retail outlets in 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and 10,000 towns across China.

Unilever has agreed to acquire a 75% stake in Equilibra.

Based in the UK, Unilever is a consumer goods manufacturer, while Equilibra is engaged in personal care and wellbeing business.

The transaction will enable Unilever to develop new products in the personal care and well-being segment.

Emami International FZE has completed an acquisition of a 7.54% stake in Loli Beauty for $565,000.

Emami International FZE is a subsidiary of Emami Limited, a producer and marketer of personal care, healthcare and beauty products. Loli Beauty is a US firm that is engaged in personal care.

The transaction was made by subscribing to 12,28,261 Series Seed Prime Preferred Stock (SSPPS).

Emami’s promoters have also acquired an additional 1.33% stake by investing $100,000 for 2,17,391 SSPPS in Loli Beauty.
