Corona has launched alcoholic flavoured malt beverage Corona Refresca in the US market.

Corona marketing vice-president Ann Legan said: “The strong brand equity of Corona allows us to keep the iconic lifestyle at the heart of everything we do. We are propelling Corona forward to address consumers’ desire for flavourful experiences with new innovations, like Corona Refresca.

“This expansion of the brand is anchored in Corona’s carefree lifestyle and inspired by the tropics, helping fans pause and celebrate the moments that truly matter with a new flavour-forward beverage in-hand.”

With 4.5% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), Corona Refresca is said to offer a crisp and flavourful taste with 199 calories per 12oz serving. The beverages will be available in various flavours, including Guava Lime, Passionfruit Lime and Coconut Lime.

The guava and passionfruit variants will be available in a pack of six for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $9.99 and 12 for $16.99. Coconut Lime will only be available in a 12-pack.

The beer company will launch marketing campaigns on both mainstream and social media.

The Corona brand is part of Constellation Brands’ portfolio, which also includes Corona Extra, Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Modelo Negra, Pacifico and Ballast Point.
