Coca-Cola North America is set to launch its new ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee variant called Coca-Cola With Coffee, in January.

The new variant offers a taste of Coca-Cola with a flavour of 100% Brazilian coffee.

The beverage will be rolled out in the US market in three signature flavours including Dark Blend, Vanilla and Caramel.

Coca-Cola North America Coca-Cola Trademark vice-president Jaideep Kibe said: “This is a truly unique hybrid innovation that will pioneer a new category we’re calling refreshment coffee.

“Coca-Cola With Coffee is a product that is meant to be tried,” he added. “Because when you take that first sip, you realise there’s nothing quite like it… It sips like a Coke and finishes like a coffee.”

The launch of the beverage is said to be part of the company’s ‘lift and shift’ strategy, which focuses on beverage innovations from market to market through an experimental, test-and-learn approach.

In 2018, the product was first launched in Japan, and currently, it is available in more than 30 countries across the globe including Australia, Brazil, Vietnam, Turkey and Italy.

With 69mg of caffeine per 12oz can, the recipe has been tailored to meet local tastes.

The Coca-Cola Company sparkling beverage portfolio chief marketing officer Javier Meza said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the need for us to be more disciplined in how we launch, validate, refine and scale-up big bets like this.

“We’re excited to bring Coca-Cola With Coffee to the United States and apply learnings from so many markets that have gotten us to where we are today.”

Last June, Coca Cola and Costa Coffee announced the release of a ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage in the UK market.
