Costa Coffee is set to release a ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage in the UK market.

The coffee will be the first product to be released by the British multinational coffeehouse following its acquisition by Coca Cola in September last year.

At the time, Coca-Cola president and CEO James Quincey said that the deal was “another important step toward becoming the total beverage company we aspire to be.”

Coca-Cola global ventures senior vice-president and president Jennifer Mann said: “Our teams at Coca-Cola and Costa Coffee have been working around-the-clock to make our shared vision of Costa RTD coffee a reality.

“This demonstrates the power of our partnership. It combines the marketing expertise, global scale and distribution credentials of the Coca-Cola system with Costa Coffee’s expertise and capabilities in coffee.”

The canned RTD range will be available in Classic Latte, Caramel Latte and Black Americano flavours.

The Classic Latte variant offers a combination of aromatic espresso and creamy milk, while the Caramel Latte is a slightly sweet blend of espresso, milk and caramel syrup.

The Black Americano is an espresso softened with a little water for a smooth milk-free finish.

Costa Coffee noted that the new range contains 30% less sugar than other RTD coffees.

Costa Coffee CEO Dominic Paul said: “Through this collaboration, we’ve been able to work together to offer consumers the great taste of Costa Coffee in a can for the first time.”
