Global beverage company Coca-Cola has partnered with Cargo Systems to offer its GLACÉAU Smartwater app in Atlanta, US.

Under the new partnership, users of the Cargo app will be able to order bottles of GLACÉAU Smartwater directly to their cars. The app organises a carshare driver to deliver the beverage once the customer’s vehicle has stopped in a safe spot.

Consumers can also order snacks and goods such as phone chargers.

“Cargo offers an innovative solution to helping Coca-Cola deliver refreshments to consumers in their moment of need.”

Coca-Cola North America’s e-commerce vice-president and general manager John Carroll said: “We’re very excited to enter this new distribution channel in rideshare with Cargo.

“Cargo offers an innovative solution to helping Coca-Cola deliver refreshments to consumers in their moment of need in a space that was previously hard to reach at scale.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the impact we have on rideshare passengers when they find our product within arm’s reach when using Uber and Lyft.”

Carrol further explained that the new initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to find new routes-to-market based on consumer trends.

In addition to Atlanta, Cargo also operates in other cities across the US, including New York, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington DC and Baltimore.
