Canadian craft spirits producer Eau Claire Distillery has expanded its footprint in the US market by officially launching its Parlour Gin and Prickly Pear EquineOx products in the Greater Chicago area.

The company’s products were previously only available in New York and Florida regions in the US.

Parlour Gin is a London-style dry gin produced using traditional gin botanicals and has hints of rosehip, Saskatoon berry, coriander, lemon, orange, mint and spice. Its alcohol by volume (ABV) is 40%.

Prickly Pear EquineOx has a 40% ABV and is produced using mountain-fresh water, prairie grain and ingredients like the prickly pear cactus. It has been created as an alternative to gin and vodka and to replace them in beverages.

Eau Claire Distillery founder David Farran said: “Despite being an urban mecca, Chicago has demonstrated a strong demand for farm-to-glass products and artisanal methods.

“We’re delighted to share our award-winning craft spirits with Chicagoland’s distinguished imbibers looking for storied spirits from seed to sip.”

The Canadian craft spirits maker claims that its grain to glass approach combines regionally-sourced ingredients and artisanal distilling methods to produce high-quality spirits.

“We are really excited to be working with Eau Claire Distillery. Their products are a great fit for consumers who want a quality product made from top ingredients.”

This expansion will mean Eau Claire’s Parlour Gin and Prickly Pear EquineOx products will be available in bars, restaurants, liquor stores and organic markets across Chicago. The products will be distributed by Chicago-based importer and distributor of fine wines H2Vino.

Consumers in Chicago can purchase Eau Claire’s Parlour Gin and Prickly Pear EquineOx products at Whole Foods and Pete’s Fresh Markets, Provisions Uptown and at Sugar Beet Co-Op.

Additionally, the Canadian company will be retailing its liquor products through BigFish, a mobile-based ecommerce platform that sells spirits online throughout Illinois.

H2Vino managing partner David Thomas said: “We are really excited to be working with Eau Claire Distillery.

“Their products are a great fit for consumers who want a quality product with an exciting story made from top ingredients. We look forward to introducing our customers to this exciting brand.”

Other products in Eau Claire Distillery’s spirit portfolio include the 40% ABV Three Point vodka, which has aromas of caramel, vanilla and grain, and Single Malt Whisky, the production of which the company claims makes it Alberta’s first single malt whisky distillery.
