Flavoured water maker Eklo Water has launched its red berry and citrus flavoured beverages in Brazil packaged in Crown Embalagens Metálicas da Amazônia’s (Crown Brazil) sleek-style 310ml aluminium cans.

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Crown Holdings supplies packaging products to consumer marketing companies worldwide.

Eklo Water co-owner Fabio Nono said: “It is clear that Brazilians want healthy, flavourful alternatives to teas, soft drinks and sugary beverages.

“We are seeing consumers display an increased preference for package attributes such as portability, eye-catching design and overall durability.”

“Our flavoured water meets that demand and sleek style beverage cans are the perfect format to market them in.

“While we originally launched the drink in cartons, we transitioned to sleek-style beverage cans as we are seeing consumers display an increased preference for package attributes such as portability, eye-catching design and overall durability.”

Both flavours are claimed to be free from sodium, calories and preservatives. They are also said to be sweetened by a natural extract of stevia.

Eklo Water is currently available in retail stores and restaurants across Rio de Janeiro. The company intends to initially distribute its products across the southern region of Brazil and later expand to the entire country.
