Bowmore unveils new single malt Scotch whisky

Beam Suntory brand Bowmore has announced the addition of the new Bowmore 1965 Single Malt Scotch Whisky to its 50-year-old vaults series.

The new product has been matured for 52 years at Bowmore’s No. 1 Vaults distillery on Scotland’s Isle of Islay, which is one of the world’s oldest Scotch maturation warehouses.

Bowmore’s distillery manager David Turner said: “Bowmore 1965 demonstrates the rewards of our meticulous ageing process and showcases the quality of whiskies coming from our passionate and dedicated distillery team.

“The 1965 expression comes from a golden era of distillation and adds another fine single malt to the Bowmore portfolio. The latest addition in our 50-year-old Vaults series is sure to obtain legendary status among collectors and whisky enthusiasts.”

With 42% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), Bowmore 1965 is a limited-edition bottling that offers a smoky and fruity taste that is said to be distinctive of 1960s Bowmore whiskies.

Bowmore 1965 also presents scents of sweet beeswax and dark chocolate, which are balanced with jasmine and apricots.

Presented in a hand-blown glass bottle with sterling silver adornments, Bowmore 1965 is housed in a hand-crafted cabinet made from Scottish oak.

Bowmore has released 232 bottles of Bowmore 1965, which will join 1966 50-Year-Old, 1964 50-Year-Old and 1961 50-Year-Old. It will be available from next month for a suggested retail price of $30,000 per 750ml bottle.
