US-based cooperative Blue Diamond has expanded its beverage product portfolio with the launch of Almond Breeze Almondmilk Mexican Hot Chocolate flavour.

Produced using California-grown almonds, the beverage is plant-based and contains traditional ingredients such as cinnamon, red pepper and allspice.

Blue Diamond brand marketing director Suzanne Hagener said: “Following the momentum of our recently launched Almondmilk Horchata, we’ve continued to draw inspiration from the Latin American community and further our commitment to our customers.

“We know that people across all cultures enjoy the familiar and comforting flavours of these classic beverages, and have made them more accessible than ever with delicious plant-based variations the whole family can savour.”

The company noted that its variant is a limited edition product that is free from dairy, lactose, soy and gluten.

In addition to Almond Breeze Almondmilk Mexican Hot Chocolate, the cooperative will also release Almond Breeze Almondmilk Nog.

From this month, Almond Breeze Almondmilk Mexican Hot Chocolate will be available in major retailers nationwide, while Almond Breeze Almondmilk Nog will be available across the US market next month with a fresh look.

In January, Blue Diamond expanded its Almond Breeze portfolio with the launch of an almond-based milk creamer and a banana-flavoured milk product in the US.

Almondmilk Creamer and Almondmilk Blended with Real Bananas are expected to strengthen the company’s footprint in the plant-based beverage category.

With a thick and silky texture, Almondmilk Creamer is available in Vanilla and Unsweetened Original flavours. It can be used in coffee or as a dairy-free substitute for traditional cream.
