Diageo’s whiskey brand Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon will make its annual return to the US market in honour of its distillery’s 83rd anniversary.

The new bourbon whiskey will be a limited time release and will be available in 14 selected US states.

Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old whiskey has a 46% alcohol by volume and is bottled at 92 proof after being aged at the brand’s distillery.

North American Whiskey Educator Doug Kragel said: “Beginning with a pronounced nose reminiscent of toasted oak layered with vanilla bean, figs and a light touch of dark caramel, this limited-release bourbon’s taste is accented with notes of torched sugar and apples baked in honey and spices.

“It’s the kind of rare whiskey that makes you want to savour every note slowly because, at some point, supply will run out.”

With a suggested retail price of $250 for a 750ml bottle, Blade and Bow will only release six bottles weekly from 4 May this year until its supply is gone.

The re-release of Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will also coincide with the Derby Day.

The other product in Blade and Bow’s portfolio is a Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The brand aims to use the two products to tell the story of its distillery and Kentucky’s whiskey producing history.
