Dutch coffee house Beukenhorst Koffie and Holland America Line have partnered to unveil a new small-batch roasted coffee blend.

Called Rotterdam 1873, the beverage combines the arabica coffee bean flavours from Indonesia, as well as Central and South America. These are roasted in small batches at Beukenhorst Coffee USA’s West Palm Beach facility.

Holland America Line president Orlando Ashford said: “As an innovator in premium cruising, Holland America Line is continuously looking to create unique experiences, and we’re excited to be the first cruise line to introduce our own branded, speciality coffee that guests can not only enjoy on board, but take home as well.

“It was an exciting opportunity to work together to create a personalised, premium coffee experience through our small-batch roasting process.”

Holland America Line has been serving Beukenhorst Koffie for more than 20 years. It imports the product from The Netherlands.

Beukenhorst Coffee USA co-founder Hans Wiggemans said: “Beukenhorst Koffie has worked with Holland America Line for many years, and it was an exciting opportunity to work together to create a personalised, premium coffee experience through our small-batch roasting process.”

The company uses fresh coffee to create speciality blends, cold-brew coffee and private label projects.

Beukenhorst Koffie, which was founded in 1784 as a coffee roaster and retailer, continues to roast Arabica coffee beans through a traditional slow roasting drum system.
