US-based alcoholic beverage wholesaler Ben E Keith Beverages has expanded its distribution footprint with the acquisition of Artisanal Beverage Distributor’s assets.

The acquisition will add 20 suppliers to Ben E Keith Beverages’ growing line-up of spirits, expanding the company’s spirits distribution network across Texas.

Financial details of the deal are yet to be disclosed by either company.

Ben E Keith Beverages president Kevin Bartholomew said: “This full-scale move into the spirits market solidifies Ben E Keith’s standing as a top wholesaler of premier beverages and provides a dedicated and focused department to grow our spirits business throughout Texas.

“This strengthens our foothold in the space and complements our largest supplier partner Anheuser-Busch’s growth into spirits.”

Established in 2014 by Jeff Daniels and Mark Monfrey, Artisanal Beverage Distributor offers a range of alcoholic beverages including bourbons, whiskeys, scotch, gin, tequila, mezcal, rum and vodka, as well as other speciality liqueurs and mixers.

Daniels said: “Teaming up with Ben E Keith Beverages allows us to build on the popularity we’ve seen over the past decade in the spirits industry, particularly among Millennials and gives our brands more exposure and availability than ever.”

Both Daniels and Monfrey have agreed to join the company.

Last month, Ben E Keith Beverages partnered with Blackland Distillery, agreeing to distribute its products in the North Texas region.

Products the company agreed to distribute included Blackland Vodka, Blackland Gin, Blackland Bourbon and Blackland Rye Whiskey.

Established in 1906, Ben E Keith Company distributes beers, craft beers, spirits, wine products and non-alcoholic beverages.
