Beefeater, a gin brand of spirits and wines manufacturer Corby Spirit, has launched its Blood Orange variant in Canada.

Corby Spirit is owned by French alcoholic beverage producer Pernod Ricard.

The gin variant is claimed to have drawn inspiration from Orange Gin, distilled by Beefeater’s founder James Burrough in 1876.

Beefeater Canada brand manager Aoife O’Reilly said: “There is a significant opportunity for flavoured gin in Canada and Beefeater is well placed, as a loved and established gin brand, to satisfy the growing consumer need.”

Created in London by master distiller Desmond Payne, Beefeater Blood Orange offers a bittersweet juicy flavour and has a vibrant, striking colour.

The gin provides aromas of juniper and angelica and has a long rich finish.

Payne said: “Like our founder James Burrough, who created his first Orange Gin to appeal to his contemporaries almost 150 years ago, we have created this zesty new gin for the cocktail and spritz drinkers of 2020, who will love its enticing citrus aromas, bold flavours and statement shade.”

Initially, Beefeater Blood Orange can be purchased in Ontario in the LCBO, in BCLS in British Columbia, NSLC in Nova Scotia and at select retailers in Alberta.

Later this month, the company will roll out Beefeater Blood Orange to stores in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

Last year, Beefeater Gin announced the launch of its Beefeater Blood Orange variant in the UK and Ireland.
