Global dairy company Arla Foods (Arla) is set to enter the breakfast food-to-go segment by launching its Milk & Oats ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage.

Featuring a blend of skimmed milk, wholegrain oats and natural flavours, Arla’s Milk & Oats will be available in two different flavours, namely maple and vanilla.

The dairy firm explained that its Milk & Oats is high in fibre and protein, low in fat and a source of calcium.

“Our eating patterns are becoming more flexible and the way we consume breakfast is changing.”

Arla Foods senior category and brand manager Verity Richardson said: “As a nation, our eating patterns are becoming more flexible and the way we consume breakfast is changing.

“Traditionally, eating breakfast on-the-go can lead to less healthy choices, but Milk & Oats is a nutritious drink that still gives consumers the convenience and flexibility when eating breakfast out of the home.”

Milk & Oats will be launched on 7 May at Nisa and Co-Op in a 250ml bottle and will be available in Sainsbury’s from 28 May.

By introducing Milk & Oats, the company has further strengthened its commitment to innovation in milk and bringing new dairy products to market.

Arla Foods is owned by 11,200 dairy farmers and its products are distributed to more than 100 countries under Arla, Lurpak and Castello brands.
