Mexican beverage manufacturing and distribution company Arca Continental and its subsidiary Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB) held a ground-breaking ceremony for a new $250m production and distribution facility in Texas, US.

As one of the first Latin American bottlers to operate in the US Coca-Cola system, Arca Continental announced its investment plans in May this year.

Arca Continental’s CEO Francisco Garza Egloff said: “Since April 2017, when we integrated CCSWB to Arca Continental, we have focused our efforts in strengthening a sound growth platform for our customers, consumers, associates and communities.

“The projected investment for this facility reflects our long-term commitment with the values of our organisation, such as a customer-centric market service, operational excellence, social responsibility and sustainability.”

“We have focused our efforts in strengthening a sound growth platform for our customers, consumers, associates and communities.”

The new facility will feature five new production lines, alongside additional distribution and warehouse space, which will enable CCSWB to better serve the Southeast Texas market.

Reported to be one of the largest investments made in the state by a Mexican company, the distribution facility in Texas is expected to be completed by Q1 2020.

Arca Continental produces, distributes and sells non-alcoholic Coca-Cola beverages and salty snacks under the Bokados, Inalecsa, Wise and Deep River brands in the US and South America.

Last month, the company’s subsidiary AC Bebidas announced re-initiation of negotiations with Peru Beverage to acquire 38.52% of the capital stock of Corporación Lindley.
