Alcohol manufacturer and distributor Amber Beverage Group (ABG) has increased its stake in UK-based Cellar Trends by 70%.

Cellar Trends is engaged in the distribution of wines, spirits and associated products in the UK. It has a portfolio of more than 60 international brands.

The remaining stake will be held by the firm’s joint CEOs Martin Watts and David Marriot.

“It provides a stable base for the continuation, with confidence, of our successful brand building work on behalf of all the brand owners.”

ABG has been a shareholder in Cellar Trends since early last year. It has been noted that there will be no changes to Cellar Trends’ management following the acquisition.

Watts and Marriot said: “This is a welcome evolution of Cellar Trends’ relationship with Amber Beverage Group.

“It provides a stable base for the continuation, with confidence, of our successful brand building work on behalf of all the brand owners whom we are proud to represent.”

ABG produces and distributes a comprehensive range of more than 130 brands, including Riga Black Balsam, Moskovskaya Vodka, Rooster Rojo Tequila and Cosmopolitan Diva to around 70 active global markets.

In May this year, ABG acquired a majority stake in Australia’s Think Spirits which distributes premium spirit brands.
