7-Eleven is set to introduce a new cold brew iced coffee drink to the US market.

The chilled beverage is claimed to be slow-steeped to deliver high smoothness and flavour. It is also said to be sweeter than other hot and iced coffees.

In addition, consumers will be able to customise the beverage with a choice of creamers, toppings and syrups.

“Because of the long steeping process and different grind size of the coffee beans, cold brew almost has a craft appeal with a smoother, richer flavour.”

7-Eleven cold beverages senior category manager Jacob Barnes said: “Because of the long steeping process and different grind size of the coffee beans, cold brew almost has a craft appeal with a smoother, richer flavour. For millennials and Gen Z-ers, it’s a modern day soda or milkshake.”

Barnes further added: “Hot coffee is primarily a morning, on-your-way-to-work drink. Some people do choose cold over hot in the mornings, but many enjoy drinking iced coffee much more casually and leisurely than they do hot coffee later in the day and on weekends.

“7-Eleven stores are a beverage destination for millions, and we do that by watching trends and offering the drinks customers want, whenever they want.”

The limited-edition cold brew will be available across the US for $0.99.

Earlier this year, the convenience store chain introduced other cold-serve beverages, including 7-Select PuriTEA organic, cold-brewed iced tea and organic cold pressed juices under 7-Select GO!Smart brand.
