US-based Ferris Coffee & Nut has expanded its line of speciality coffees with the introduction of ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage Ferris Nitro Cold Brew Coffee.

The new product is claimed to be naturally chocolaty, nutty, heavy bodied and sweet.

Ferris Nitro Cold Brew Coffee will be launched on 2 April with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $3.75 per can. Its ingredients include water and Ferris coffee, which is sourced directly from Central and South America.

“Our coffee team has tested small batches of kegged and bottled cold brew in our own cafes since 2014.”

It is reported that no sweeteners, creamers, preservatives or flavourings have been added to the product and its nitrogen infusion provides a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Ferris director of coffee Sam Mirto said: “Our coffee team has tested small batches of kegged and bottled cold brew in our own cafes since 2014, and the response has been tremendous.

“Now, after many experiments, we’ve landed on a recipe that we are excited to share with the greater community.

“Efficiency and sustainability are strong priorities within our company. The recyclable five-gallon kegs will be a perfect option for many of our wholesale partners.”

The new drink will be available in a single can, a four pack of 12oz cans or a five-gallon keg, which are all said to be 100% recyclable.
