Samuel Adams has released its India pale ale (IPA) New England IPA across the US.

The new product is a medium-bodied, unfiltered brew that is balanced by the fusion of Mosaic, Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe and Cascade hops.

It is reported that Samuel Adams and Sam Adams are registered trademarks of The Boston Beer Company.

“Our brewers worked for more than a year to develop a brew with a distinctive set of flavour characteristics that involve unusual and novel brewing practices.”

Brewed in Sam Adams’ experimental Nano brewery in Boston, US, the beer is hopped with pineapple and grapefruit.

Scaled at 35 international bitterness units (IBU), the brew measures 6.8% alcohol-by-volume (ABV).

Sam Adams founder and brewer Jim Koch said: “Our brewers worked for more than a year to develop a brew with a distinctive set of flavour characteristics that involve unusual and novel brewing practices to give our version of a New England IPA its hazy, juicy and smooth character. We can’t wait for drinkers to try it for themselves and see what the haze craze is all about!”

The IPA was previously available on draft at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery, as well as select bars and restaurants in the Boston area.

New England IPA will be available from April in a four-pack of 16oz cans, priced between $8.99 and $9.99.

Founded in 1984, Samuel Adams is an independent craft brewer.
