Grupo Sun Ocean has obtained a formal approval from the Technical Unit for Private Investment (UTIP) in Angola to establish a beverage plant in the region.

UTIP receives, analyses, and manages private investment and focuses on the socio-economic justification of the project within the Angolan context.

The new plant will be engaged in production, packaging, and distribution of juice, water, and wine products. It is expected to support economic and social development in Angola.

Grupo Sun Ocean was formed by the Sun Ocean Holdings, Embasa, and Quantum Global African Infrastructure. It is likely to occupy a unique position in Angola’s drinks and beverage market.

"Once the company is fully operational, it is expected to produce 80 million litres annually."

Quantum Global Group active management head Martin Bachmann said: “I am truly delighted about the creation of this project and to receive the approval of UTIP. We thank UTIP’s Board and our new partners in Grupo Sun Ocean for their commitment.

“Quantum Global is excited to be investing in a sector that will contribute greatly to Angola’s drink and beverage sector, as well as the diversification of the Angolan economy.”

Once the company is fully operational, it is expected to produce 80 million litres annually and will provide employment for more than 400 people.
