Coca-Cola Company brand Sprite has launched new cherry-flavoured beverages Sprite Cherry and Sprite Cherry Zero in the US.

Expanding its current range of 250 zero-sugar beverages in the country, the firm intends to offer customers a new zero-sugar and zero-calorie option through Sprite Cherry Zero.

The flavoured cool and crisp beverages are claimed to be clear, caffeine-free, and contain 100% natural flavours.

Coca-Cola's North America Sprite & citrus brands director Bobby Oliver said: “We’re always looking for new ways to give people more choice and variety, whether it’s launching a limited-time product or a seasonal flavour and this time, we’re excited to bring two new flavour innovations to the Sprite portfolio.

"We’re always looking for new ways to give people more choice and variety."

“The launch of Sprite Cherry and Sprite Cherry Zero is a great way to show our fans that we’re continuing to innovate and offer them more of the great Sprite taste they love with a twist of something new.”

To be available in 20-ounce (568ml) polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, the new Sprite offerings are available for purchase at convenience outlets and other retail stores.

The new beverages are a permanent addition to the brand's portfolio, contrary to its previous limited edition releases such as Sprite Cranberry, Sprite Cranberry Zero, Sprite Tropical Mix, and Sprite LeBron’s Mix.

The Coca-Cola Company includes more than 3,800 offerings across more than 500 sparkling and still brands. Its portfolio of brands comprises Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero, Fanta, Sprite, Dasani, vitaminwater, Powerade, Minute Maid, Simply, Del Valle, Georgia, and Gold Peak.
