Craft brewer Samuel Adams is planning to release two new seasonal beer expressions; Samuel Adams Hopscape and Fresh as Helles.

Hopscape features Citrus and Piney hop notes with a bitter finish, while Fresh as Helles has honey malt aroma and orange blossom flavours.

Samuel Adams founder and brewer Jim Koch said: "With Hopscape, we knew we wanted to brew a hop-forward beer to match the bitterness of the cold.

"The Smirnoff brand is bringing something new to the emerging spiked seltzer category by now offering its lowest calorie option."

"Our Sam Adams Nano Brewery gave us the chance to experiment with a variety of hop trials until we nailed the citrusy and piney flavour profile we were going for. On the flip side, for the more fickle side of this season, we knew we wanted to brew a more delicate beer.

"We found that our helles recipe created the perfect base for balancing the flavour of tangy Mandarina hops and floral orange blossom petals. As brewers, half the fun is brewing multiple trials until we get just the right flavour, or in our case flavours, that we're looking for."

Hopscape is developed with four varieties of West Coast hops that are reported to impart pine and grapefruit notes to the ale, while the citrusy, dank resin and grapefruit rind aromas of the beer are due to Chinook, Citra, Centennial, and Zeus hops.

Fresh as Helles is a medium-bodied helles brewed using Mandarina hops and orange blossom petals. The orange blossom is claimed to provide citrus notes to the beer.

Hoposcope will be available during January and February, while Fresh as Helles during March and April.

Both the brews will be available as packs of six and 12, as well as single serve cans and on draft.
