The smoothies; Big Bang, Mountain Man Crunch Lite and Chocolate Elvis, feature balanced fat-carbohydrate-protein ratios, low calories, and a high protein content.

Planet Smoothie national marketing manager Nicole Butcher said: "Customers are going to love our three Balanced Smoothies, especially as those New Year's resolutions start to kick in.

"The Big Bang is a current customer favourite filled with delicious and healthy ingredients like strawberries, bananas and whey protein, while the Mountain Man Crunch Lite and Chocolate Elvis Lite feature PB2 to create lighter versions of two of our most popular smoothies."

Big Bang is made of strawberries, bananas, vanilla and whey protein, while Mountain Man Crunch Lite consists of almond milk, bananas, granola, honey, and non-fat no-sugar-added frozen yogurt, along with a powdered peanut butter called PB2.

Chocolate Elvis Lite contains cocoa, bananas, non-fat milk and no-fat, no-added-sugar frozen yogurt, as well as PB2.

The smoothies will be available until 30 April at select Planet Smoothie locations.

Planet Smoothie provides its customers with real fruit smoothies with lower calorie, lower sugar, and higher protein varieties across protein, energy, and Planet Lite categories.

Acquired by Kahala Brands in 2015, the brand currently offers products at its 110 locations in 18 states across the US.
