PepsiCo has added Citrus Cola and 1893 Black Currant Cola to its 1893 portfolio.

Last year, the company introduced Original Cola and Ginger Cola under the 1893 brand.

Pepsi marketing senior director Stacy Taffet said: "With bold, unique flavours and premium ingredients we are delivering the next generation of colas with 1893.

"We are thrilled to introduce Citrus and Black Currant to the portfolio, offering a modern take for consumers while honouring the original cola recipes created over a century ago by our founder."

PepsiCo claimed that 1893 brings together premium ingredients and more than 100 years of cola-making expertise.

"With bold, unique flavours and premium ingredients we are delivering the next generation of colas with 1893."

Inspired by the original recipes created in 1893 by Pepsi founder Caleb Bradham, 1893 is a blend of kola nut extract, real sugar and sparkling water.

The new Citrus Cola is claimed to be a balance of 1893's Original Cola and the refreshing essence of grapefruit.

Black Currant Cola also starts with the Original Cola recipe, and is infused with the essence of blackcurrants for a bold berry finish.

1893 can be consumed either as a standalone beverage or as an enhancement for top shelf cocktails.

The launch of Citrus Cola and Black Currant Cola are supported through an integrated marketing mix, including television and online advertising.

Packaged in 12oz cans, Citrus Cola and Black Currant Cola are sold in stores where Pepsi products are available, for a suggested retail price of $1.79.
