It will be operational by the end of 2017.

Nestlé Philippines CEO Jacques Reber was quoted by foodbev.com as saying: “The Philippines is an important market [and the] PHP2bn investment is a clear demonstration that we believe in the potential of the Filipino market, of the Philippines and Nestlé Philippines.

“And we continue to invest in a big way.”

The carbohydrate ingredient plant will be constructed at the company’s existing facility in Batangas, 30 miles from manila.

The Batangas facility manufactures a range of powdered milk and coffee products.

Besides the Batangas facility, Nestlé has four other facilities in the Philippines.
