Privatmolkerei Naarmann has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a distribution company in Pakistan for importing and distributing European ultra-high-temperature (UHT) milk in the country.

Under the terms of the MoU, Naarmann will import the milk in a bag-in-box package fitted with The Answer tap manufactured by US-based International Dispensing (IDC).

Naarmann's chief executive officer (CEO) Claus Naarmann said: “We are very excited about the opportunities that our cost-effective packaging solution for high-quality milk will generate in Pakistan and are gearing up for a long-term presence there.

“The Answer truly is the answer for dairy safety and quality, especially in markets lacking refrigeration.”

IDC’s aseptic dispensing tap can dispense UHT liquid foods safely and has the potential to maintain shelf stability of the remaining contents even without refrigeration. The European-quality UHT milk comes with six months shelf life and also guarantee ten days of ambient non-refrigerated dispensing with The Answer tap.

IDC's chairman and CEO Greg Abbott said: “IDC and Naarmann have a strong collaboration and a great strategic fit, and together we are making history.

“We intend to build a robust and flourishing business in Pakistan to transform this enormous market for the better and make a monumental contribution to food safety.”
