Milk & Honey Distillery has unveiled limited expression Israel’s First Single Malt Whisky.

The company intends to release this new expression in the Israeli market by June this year and plans for global distribution in 2019.

The whiskey was initially created at its head distiller Tomer Goren’s workshop in the Sharon region, matured in 225l American oak casks in a warehouse for more than two and a half years, reported Thespiritsbusiness.com. It was later transferred to the Milk & Honey Distillery’s cask room for further maturation.

"The whiskey was initially created at its head distiller Tomer Goren’s workshop in the Sharon region."

Goren created the brew in collaboration with Dr. Jim Swan, who was previously employed with Milk & Honey as master distiller. Goren experimented with different types of malt and yeast and the duo distilled in small batches.

As part of its Experimental Series, the company has produced 391 bottles of the whiskey, which has 46% alcohol-by-volume (ABV).

The company is also planning to experiment with maturation in other geothermic areas.
