Michter's Distillery introduces US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye in US


Michter's Distillery has released limited edition US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye in the US market for the first time.

The new whiskey is produced using Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye, which is then aged in a custom 24-month, air-dried, toasted barrel.

Michter's is reported to have designed the toasting profile to improve the spice of the rye, while adding hints of dark toast and smoke.

Michter's Distillery president Joseph Magliocco said: "This innovative release is the culmination of two years' maturation research conducted by our master distiller Pamela Heilmann and master of maturation Andrea Wilson. The result of their work is a uniquely flavourful rye that we are very proud of."

Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye is $75 for a 750ml bottle in the US.

Based in Louisville, Michter's offers a range of traditional American whiskeys. Its product portfolio includes single barrel rye, small batch bourbon, single barrel bourbon, American whiskey, and sour mash whiskey.
