McDonald's US has re-launched its McCafé experience with new packaging designs, additional espresso beverages, and expanded retail offerings.

The new espresso beverages are claimed to be made with freshly-ground espresso and whole or non-fat milk sourced in the US. They will be offered in addition to re-crafted lattes and mochas.

The new beverage lineup includes caramel macchiato, cappuccino, and americano flavours.

Caramel macchiato is a dark-roast espresso served with whole or non-fat milk, mixed with sweet caramel syrup, and topped with ribbons of buttery caramel drizzle.

The cappuccino is a coffee drink made with whole or non-fat steamed milk and bold espresso made from sustainably sourced beans.

"We understand how important the coffee culture is for consumers and we are committed to meeting that demand at the taste, convenience and value only McDonald's can offer."

The americano beverage is freshly brewed with dark, rich espresso for a strong, bold flavour.

In collaboration with the Coca-Cola Company, McDonald's US also plans to introduce a line of ready-to-drink (RTD) McCafé Frappé beverages in three flavours including caramel, vanilla, and mocha by early next year.

The new bottled lineup will join the whole bean, ground, and single-serve coffee currently available nationally in retail stores.

McDonald's US president Chris Kempczinski said: "This is just the start of our McCafé commitment. We understand how important the coffee culture is for consumers and we are committed to meeting that demand at the taste, convenience and value only McDonald's can offer.

“This is a central part of our growth strategy and we can't wait to share what's next.”
