Brown-Forman Corporation, one of the largest American-owned spirits and wines companies, is set to re-enter the single malt segment by acquiring The BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, a single malt Scotch whiskey distillery based in Scotland.

The £285m ($414.39m) acquisition will include three malt distilleries based in Scotland, a bottling plant, and three single malt scotch whiskey brands. In addition, the American company will also take over the Scottish company’s headquarters, located in Edinburgh.

The takeover is expected to be completed by 1 June 2016.

Latin America’s biggest brewery company, Ambev SA, formerly known as Companhia de Bebidas das Americas, has announced that it will take over Do Bem (Do Bem Bebidas) in order to grow its non-alcoholic division.

Do Bem deals with the production and sale of non-alcoholic beverages in Latin America.
