Left Hand Brewing, a Colorado-based craft brewery, is planning to expand its distribution footprint by offering beers in Washington DC and Maryland in early March 2014.

The move by the brewery is to strengthen its distribution channel in the East Coast region and part of a revamped 15yr expansion plan that includes meeting staffing and equipment needs in new markets.

For the East Coast region, the brewery has signed a wholesale agreement with Legends Limited Distributing.

Legends will distribute the brewery’s recurring beers and brews from Nitro series including Milk Stout & Milk Stout Nitro, Sawtooth Ale & Sawtooth Nitro, 400 Pound Monkey IPA, Black Jack Porter, Polestar Pilsner, Stranger Pale Ale, and Left Hand’s variety pack – Mountain Mixer.

Left Hand Brewing East Coast regional sales manager Jason Ingram was quoted by Brewbound as saying that they have had their eye on the Old Line State for many years and with continual production expansion efforts, they will be able to bring Left Hand’s portfolio of award winning balanced beers to their nation’s capital.

The addition of Washington and Maryland regions will increase its distribution footprint to 27 territories.

Left Hand Brewing brewing operations vice president Joe Schiraldi told the website that they recently grew production by 32% to reach 65,000 barrels annually and further expects to increase production by at least another 15,000 barrels in 2014.
