InHouse Ventures, a US-based investment fund company, has acquired Taylor Maid Farms, a Californian organic coffee and tea company.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by either company.

Founded by Chris and Terry Martin in 1991, Taylor Maid Farms is spread across 100ac of organic farmland and specialises in roasting coffee in an old barn on the farm.

"After many years of helping to build leading brands, we are excited to begin a portfolio of high-quality companies of our own."

The Californian coffee company has been following organic agriculture and sustainability practices.

Taylor Maid Farms is known for its innovative can-refill programme, which helped in diverting coffee bags and labels from landfills each year.

InHouse Ventures focuses on building and acquiring multi-generational, impact oriented brands. InHouse Ventures managing partner David Cooper said: "Our fund is focused on acquiring businesses that can have strong environmental and social impact.

InHouse Ventures is an extension of InHouse, which works with many brands in the natural foods and retail industries.

InHouse Ventures plans to continue with existing employees and leadership of Taylor Maid Farms. Rob Daly who is the present CEO will continue to lead the company.

InHouse Ventures plans to transform Taylor Maid Farms into a leading organic coffee brand in Sonoma County, and the larger Northbay market.
