Dutch brewing company Heineken International is planning to redesign its Mexican beer brand Carta Blanca.

The move follows the overhaul success of the company’s other Mexican beer brand Tecate.

Heineken Carta Blanca brand manager Daniel Madrigal Marroquin was quoted by The Drum as saying: “Carta Blanca was looking for an identity change that could refresh the brand, and improve on its already popular design – and Elmwood really delivered on this.

“We think that working with Elmwood was the best decision that we could have made for this project.”

Even thoguh Carta Blanca has a loyal consumer base in North of Mexico, it has been losing out on market among the youth.

The Drum reports that Heineken plans to fund new ways to attract the youth towards the drink..

The beer company partnered with Elmwood to carry out video blogging sessions with Mexican beer drinkers, seeking details on their requirements and lifestyle preferences, to make the drink more appealing to the youth.

However, the company has not yet revealed any detailed information about the revamp.

Under the Tecate brand revamp, executed in July this year, the barnd’s Eagle mascot was given a facelift and three new eagles were developed to embody the variants that include original, light and premium.

Additionally, the Tecate colour palate was modernised with red and silver colours.
